a little piece of texas

welcome to my new little blog :) i wore out the last one... i was careless about reducing file sizes and filled up all my space. i still might wind up with a better website someday, but for now a new blog will do nicely :)

so. once upon a time (in july, maybe), amy's husband dan had to go to a land far, far away for two weeks. (the land was known as kansas.) amy made do as best she could, but being alone was not for her... too much quiet. she decided a trip to texas would be just the thing to make the time pass. down she drove, through nebraska and kansas and oklahoma and into texas, veering off-course to see some wonderful friends along the way. 

amy's week in tejas was spent working, drinking lots of coffee, determinedly trying to finish a new york times crossword (unsuccessfully), seeing texan friends, gallavanting about ikea, hanging out with the parentals, eating so much tex-mex, and feeling oddly single again. thankfully, the last in that list changed quickly when the husband escaped from aforementioned far-off land and appeared in the great state of texas.

vacating was in order, and vacate they did: a little roadtrip, a bed & breakfast, some fantastic pecan waffles, an old downtown to explore, naptimes, and good old nature in which to wander.
